Alternative Alcohol Treatment
Alternative Can Help You Stop Drinking
When you think of alcohol treatment, you probably think of group meetings or residential alcohol treatments, but what about alternative alcohol treatment? Alternative describes any treatment that goes against the norm. For example, alternative could describe hypnotism to quit drinking, or the use of supplements to keep from drinking, or any other treatment that isn’t easily associated with alcohol treatment. Alternative can be found by searching the internet or by talking to someone who is either in the treatment currently or has been in the past.
Hypnotism
One form of alternative is hypnotism. You can find a hypnotist by searching your local yellow pages or by searching the internet. The hypnotist will employ various techniques to bring you into an altered state of consciousness. Then, the hypnotist will speak directly to your subconscious, giving it instructions on what to do if you are ever tempted to drink. The idea behind this form of alternative is to make you dislike alcohol. You won’t feel the urge to dink and if you do, you may find that you no longer like it. Some people have found great success

with this form of treatment, but you must want to quit drinking for the treatment to work for you.
Supplements
Some people have found success with refraining from alcohol through the use of various supplements. Certain herbs and vitamins, claim some people, can make you refrain from alcohol. This isn’t accepted by anyone but it may work for you if you believe in it enough. However, it may be that this form of alternative works because you want it to, sort of a placebo effect. If the outcome causes you to refrain from drinking, however, it’s well worth it.
Any alternative will work if you want it badly enough. If drinking is destroying your health, your home life, as well as all aspects of your personal life, you may want to try any and all alternative programs you can find in the hopes of finally kicking the habit. There is life after alcohol abuse, you just have to want to quit or else any attempt at treatment will be an exercise in futility.
You can do more research by searching the internet or by reading a book on the subject. There are no rules for alternative alcohol treatments, however, so experiment until you find a program that works for you and finally helps you put down the bottle.
